Dear Maria, I am so sorry but I did not realize that you had a precious child who died at age 7. I saw a tribute for Christopher in the hallway in the school but I never made the connection... I don't know if we ever told you but in Between our two Daughters, who are 17 years apart, we lost a baby when I was 12 weeks pregnant. He could have been an eighth grader this year. I often see the kids who might have been his classmates and think about the life he did not have. When something like this happens to you, you can feel so alone and isolated in your grief. But all around you there are people can understand your experience, at least a little bit. Every experience is unique, as every child is unique, but it is still good to know there are others who can begin to understand. Good but also bad, because it would be better if no one else had lost a child. But even the Mother of God did not escape this experience of loss. She is close to us in our sadness, and gives us hope for future happiness, knowing her Son is risen from the dead. He draws all our children to himself, saying "Let the children come to me"!

Maria, I am so thankful that I have come to know you and your family, especially your angel, Christopher. God meant for us to cross paths but I wish it hadn't been in the way we have. Someday we will all meet in Heaven as friends as family as angels and as God's children. Our children are already gathered there and later we will all gather there too.
